A catch-all email mailbox receives email messages sent to nonexistent addresses under the very same domain. For example, an email message sent to the miswritten suport@domain.com will be delivered to support@domain.com if the catch-all feature has been enabled for the latter. Thus, you can receive emails from colleagues or clients who may have sent a message to your email address with a spelling mistake or to an obsolete one, which they may still have, but you have already deactivated. Only one mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be set up for such a mailbox. The latter is due to the fact that at a certain moment you may begin receiving spam email messages in the catch-all mailbox and the forwarding restriction means that the spam will not be delivered to a 3rd-party mailbox.

Catch-all Emails in Cloud Hosting

If you have a Linux cloud hosting with our company and you want to activate the catch-all option for a certain email mailbox that you’ve got in your web hosting account, it will take literally just a mouse click in the Email Manager section of your Hepsia hosting Control Panel to accomplish this. A catch-all button is available to the right of each email address that you have set up under any domain registered in the account. You can pick one address per domain by clicking the respective button. This will activate the feature right away, so all email messages sent to mistyped addresses will be received there. Clicking on the button once more will turn off the catch-all feature. In case you’ve got activated email forwarding, our system will display a cautionary notification and you will not be able to activate the catch-all feature unless you remove the forwarding or you can simply choose a different mailbox to be the catch-all one.

Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting

The in-house created Hepsia hosting Control Panel that is included with each semi-dedicated server package that we’re offering will allow you to create a catch-all email mailbox easily even if you don’t have much web/email hosting experience. All it takes to do that is to click on the catch-all icon, which will be to the right of each mailbox that you’ve created with your domain names in the Email Manager section of the hosting Control Panel. Since you can have just one mailbox with this feature per domain, our system will inform you if you have already created a different catch-all mailbox or if the one that you want to use has email forwarding enabled. If you decide that you don’t want the feature anymore, you can deactivate it by clicking once again on the exact same icon. The Email Manager section will also allow you to see your catch-all mailboxes at a glance.
